About the Internal Complaints Committee

The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) at the Army War College is constituted in compliance with the guidelines of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition & Redressal) Act, 2013. The committee is responsible for creating a secure, respectful, and harassment-free environment for all women working, residing, or participating in activities within the campus.

The ICC ensures that every complaint related to sexual harassment is addressed with confidentiality, sensitivity, and fairness. It functions as a platform that encourages women to speak up without fear, providing them the assurance that their concerns will be resolved promptly and impartially.

 

Objectives of ICC

  • To prevent sexual harassment through awareness, sensitization, and training

  • To protect the rights and dignity of women in the workplace

  • To provide a safe platform for reporting concerns or grievances

  • To ensure prompt, unbiased, and confidential inquiries

  • To promote gender equality and maintain a respectful work environment


Functions of the Committee

  • Receiving written complaints related to workplace harassment

  • Conducting fair and timely inquiries as per legal guidelines

  • Ensuring complete confidentiality of the complainant and proceedings

  • Recommending appropriate disciplinary actions, if required

  • Organizing workshops, sensitization programs, and awareness drives

  • Advising the administration on preventing workplace misconduct

Scope of ICC

The ICC addresses complaints related to:

  • Sexual harassment within the workplace or institutional campus

  • Misconduct during official duties, events, or work-related interactions

  • Any act or behaviour that violates dignity, respect, and safety standards

The committee’s jurisdiction covers all officers, staff, students, contractual workers, and visitors associated with the Army War College.
