The AWC Lib was raised on 01 Apr 1971 at Inf School by dividing the Infantry School Lib assets between Infantry School and College of Combat. At the time of division, the College Lib inherited nearly 10,000 books and periodicals from Infantry School.

The library moved to its present building at AWC campus during the year 1989 and since then the Combat Library (as it is called now) has evolved into an extremely well-stocked Lib containing nearly 68,000 books (incl 800 Vintage Books) on a wide range of subjects with new addns routinely affected.

The Combat Library caters for a wide diaspora of members ranging from Scholar Warriors of different services profile, permanent staff & Veterans.
